Workshop 3

Motion Capture with IMUs: Integrating Python and Unity for Virtual Avatars

Tuesday, October 27 16:00–17:30

Description

In this hands-on workshop, we will explore the complete workflow for capturing and representing physical motion in immersive environments. Participants will learn to extract and process data from inertial measurement units (IMUs) to quantify ranges of motion accurately.

Using Python scripts, we will establish a real-time data bridge to Unity, enabling motion metrics to drive the animation of 3D virtual avatars.

The workshop will provide the software and architectural foundations needed to develop projects in simulation, bioinstrumentation, or motion analysis.

Requirements
Computer laboratory with Unity 6 installed.
